Announcements and Meeting Information

Next Event Date: Monday, October 2nd, 2017.

Next Event Speaker and Topic: Please mark your calendars for our next private dinner event scheduled for Monday, October 2, when we will host Dr. Arun GandhiGandhi is the grandson of Mohandas Gandhi Founder and President of the Gandhi Worldwide Education Institute. Born in South Africa in 1934, Gandhi experienced prejudice due to the color of his skin. He was discriminated against by whites for being too black, and by blacks for being too light. At the age of ten, he became a victim of racial violence, which made him angry, bitter and violent himself. In response, his parents sent him to live with his grandfather in India, and it made an impression. The young Gandhi learned the philosophy of nonviolence and how to peacefully navigate relationships.

Gandhi uses the power of his words, in addition to activism, to enact social change. He and his wife Sunanda developed several economic programs that empowered millions of the poor, both economically and morally. Today, these programs continue to grow and spread economic stability and human compassion.
